We can't wait for the next holiday or time off from studies. We're loaded with new DVDs so we're gonna review some of 'um NOW! We've got an animated delight, a story about kids writing their way to freedom and one cool jump rope movie. Check it all out! Read and see if you want to take any of these home:

You know all about little penguin Mumble who doesn't have a song to attract a mate but can dance his little toesies off. He goes through ordeals, clashes with man and returns home to win his lady love and bring a cool environmental message to us humans.

Video: You can see every teeny feather on every penguin. The blue of the sea and the sparkle of the snow is all here. Really rich transfer here with nice saturation and no blurring. Overall, this is a beautiful transfer.

Audio: A great balance of crisp dialogue and rich, full music. Not hugely "surround" but the well-loved tunes sound great! Good job.

Special Features:

Additional animated sequences: "Mumble Meets a Blue Whale"- This little clip features the last work of recently-deceased wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter) that was cut from the film. He voices a friendly albatross trying to help little Mumble cross the ocean and deal with a big blue whale. This is introduced as a tribute to Irwin by director George Miller. It's beautifully-animated and a joy to watch. "A Happy Feet Moment"- Another fully animated scene that just shows Mumble being juggled on his dad's feet. Cute but that's about it.
