Qld ecotourism award to honour Steve Irwin
An award named in honour of the late conservationist, Steve Irwin, will be presented at next week's Queensland Tourism Awards.

Tourism Minister Margaret Keech says the award for the ecotourism category will now be known as the Steve Irwin Ecotourism Award.

Ms Keech says the award celebrates ecologically sustainable tourism, which was endorsed by the wildlife warrior.

Irwin died when a stingray barb pierced his heart while diving in far north Queensland in September.
