New owners of hamsters who have not read about hamsters
become startled when they see this condition.
They think the hamster is sick because of the swollen cheeks.
Some rodents pack their cheeks with food for later.
Rodents hoard food, they'll pack all they can in their cheeks.
This is a natural phenomenon.
I think they look kind of cute.
I can understand an owners fear though.
