Q: What brought you to Marion County and why are you interested in pursuing a career here?

GRADUATED SPRING 2009HOMETOWN: Born in Tampa, grew up in Ocala.
SCHOOLS: Forest High /Marion Technical Institute
FIELD OF STUDY: Business & Finance Academy at MTI. I plan to attend college and major in zoology.
ACHIEVEMENTS, HONORS AND CERTIFICATION: Graduated MTI/Forest with high honors; president and district secretary, Future Business Leaders of America; student government vice president; school store manager; vice president, Students Offering Support; Microsoft certification in Word and PowerPoint.

Related Links:A: Marion County truly has given me a lot of things, including education and a place I can call home. I feel I have to give back to the community that has done so much for me. Roughly 15 years ago Ocala was a small town and now that I see how much it has grown and changed I want to be a part of this change. I enrolled at Marion Technical Institute to help me learn the job skills that could help me accomplish my goals. Through the Business & Finance Academy, I learned how to create and manage a business. Toward the end of my senior year, the school helped me receive an internship at Gateway Bank, where I work in the operations department.

Q: What would be your dream job?

A: My dream job would be to work with animals like Steve Irwin did. As a child, my eyes would light up when I saw him on TV traveling the world. His life was full of excitement and adventure. I would like to study animals all over the globe like he did. After college, I plan to go to Australia to see the zoo Steve Irwin created.
