Nic and Tassie tempt the IRWINS...

CRIKEY! If you missed seeing Terri Irwin in Hobart yesterday, don't worry -- the whole clan may soon be locals.

After several attempts to open an arm of their Wildlife Warrior brand in Tasmania, Ms Irwin yesterday confirmed the wheels were again in motion and the state was in their sights.

And it's because of Tasmania's own wildlife warrior, 10-year-old "Nature Nic" Nic Bonnitcha, that this time Ms Irwin thinks the plan will succeed and become reality.

"Certainly Tasmania is close to home, it's my favourite place in Australia and I think that our future of working closer together with Nic is inevitable," Ms Irwin said.

"I'd like to do more filming here with Bindi: The Jungle Girl and in the next year we are going to do some projects here especially highlighting the achievements of Tasmania."

Wildlife Warriors was started by Ms Irwin's late husband Steve and has recently opened a branch in the United States, the first outside Queensland.

Nic said he also hoped to work closer with the Irwins by directing next year's fundraising efforts towards the Wildlife Warriors cause.

Ms Irwin was in Hobart to take part in a morning tea hosted by Nic to thank everyone who supported his Black and White Day concept.

The day raised funds for research into the facial tumour disease that is threatening the Tasmanian devil.

It involved participants dressing in black and white and donating to the devil research fund.

As well as locals, Nic invited the Irwins and was surprised when they accepted.

The Irwin family visits Tasmania each year and changed their travel plans to ensure they could attend.

Bindi and Bob were also due to attend but had schooling commitments with the tutor who travels with them.

"They missed two weeks of school because Bindi was nominated and won an Emmy, so we were in New York. And at the same time my father passed away. She ended up missing a whole month so they had to make up for lost time," Ms Irwin said.

A birthday cake was made to mark Bindi's 10th birthday next week. Nic also presented Ms Irwin with a gift for Bindi -- a "Nature Nic" bear.

Rumours about Nic and Bindi being a perfect match were also fueled by Ms Irwin.

"I guess I will have to learn how to pronounce Bonnitcha correctly for when you and Bindi get hitched," she joked.
