GPS 2F-10 (Atlas V) July 15, 2015

July 15, 2015 - A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket launches from Space Launch Complex 41, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 11:36a.m. EDT carrying a Global Positional Satellite (GPS 2F-10).

This marks the tenth launch of twelve Global Positioning Satellites for the U.S. Air Force. The GPS 2F series is vital to U.S. national security and it also sustains the current GPS constellations. This provides greater accuracy for navigation, improves military signal and assists with commercial aviation and search and rescue operations.

Photos taken from LC-39 Observation Gantry - a distance of about 2.25 miles.
