MiTex (Delta 2) - 21 June 2006

The Micro-satellite Technology Experiment (MiTEx) aboard a Boeing Delta II rocket launched on June 21, 2006 at 6:15 p.m. (EDT) from Space Launch Complex 17A from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. All aspects of the launch through spacecraft separation, which occurred approximately 30 minutes after lift-off, were nominal.

MiTEx is a joint technology demonstration mission for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. The MiTEx mission will identify, integrate, test and evaluate small satellite technologies to support and enhance future U.S. space missions.

The Delta II launch vehicle included an additional upper stage provided by the Naval Research Laboratory to boost the payload from geo-synchronous transfer orbit into a full geo-synchronous orbit.
