The Raw Hole, View 1. Just a sabre-saw away from having been a flat sheet of homasote/plywood sandwich.
View 2. That center brace was a bugger. Had to use the RotoZip to get clearance for the underside of the pit.
The controller. In their haste to make it "slick", they wired the track power thru the RJ45 cable...
Backside of the "home" sensor... I think it's an IR LED.
The seedy underbelly. Note where I chopped off the mounting lugs on the perimeter.
Test-fit. The ugly chopped-out holes were for the lugs that I eventually removed.
The pivot... showing the contact fingers and the brass sleeve (new on the 90-footer).
The pivot on the 'table. Note the split-ring pickup, which will make sounded locos "reboot" in mid-spin.
The motor cover and electronics. The little "fan" is a tonewheel that's used to tell the t'table where it's at.
Detail of the blind end.
Detail of the "live" end.
