The pocket sticks out beyond the floor... but leaves the striker plate almost perfectly aligned with the boxcar end... which is correct.

Also note, the original Atlas screw is a metric of some sort, and too short for our needs. So you need to re-tap the hole for a 2-56 screw before installing it.
