We've added a slab of .040 styrene, CA'd to the weight casting.

At this stage, you should temporarily reinstall the truck and check the mounting pad against the back side of your Kadee height gauge. Add additional shimming if needed.

Once it's set, you can slip your #50 drill down into the existing hole in the weight, and continue the hole thru the styrene.
