This time I didn't even have two full days in Switzerland. After I landed in Geneva and checked in the hotel, it was already after 11 a.m. It was very foggy in this international city, and according to the local Swiss people, it's always like that due to it's situated in a valley. I should consider myself very lucky, because right after I left, it rained there for a whole week. The nice surprise was that it was still the late Autumn in this area. I had never expected that after capturing the Fall colours in NY Upstate, I could still see them on the other side of Atlantic.
I did not walk around in Geneva during my first day. Instead, I took the train to Lausanne where the sky was clearer. The cathedral which dominates the whole city is magnificent. Its lakeside district Ouchy is also picturesque. After Lausanne I took the train and got off way before Chillon, in order to walk along the promenade by Lake Geneva. I walked past two towns all the way to Chillon just in time to take a few shots of the castle in the dusk.
The next day I went to a quiet little town Nyon for less than two hours and returned to Geneva to spend the rest of the day there. I was so happy that the sun came out in the afternoon. The architecture that impressed me most was a little Russian Church I came across when I was roaming in the city.
Both evenings I stood by the lake and viewed the illuminated Jet d'Eau, which I thought looked even more fantastic than in the daytime. It was very windy and I ended up catching a bad cold that lingered on for more than a month.....perhaps it was the price I paid for being able to come home with these shots without raindrops in them.
Enjoying these beautiful images of Switzerland is very relaxing. Thanks for another fantastic treat.

A most enjoyable tour of Switzerland without leaving my armchair, thanks for the trip. Your photos remind me of how colourful and vibrant the world is, what a shame we don't see what you see with your camera!
