After a glimpse at Mt. Nebo, the tour had a stop at the town of Madaba to visit a Byzantine Church of St. George, dating the 6th Century AD, to see the mosaic map. This map was originally part of the floor of the church, built during the reign of emperor Justinian, AD 527-565. It is the oldest map of the Holy Land that is still extant.
When the group was leaving the church, I saw a young couple lighting a candle and praying for their baby. I took my camera out again in a rush and took 3 snapshots. It was the father of the baby's expression when he looked up faithfully at the portrait of Jesus (incredibly the baby was looking in the same direction), then close his eyes while saying a prayer, and opened his eyes and looked at the flame with hope that touched my heart.
