10_Abbey Presbyterian Church.jpg

Erected in 1864, the Neo-Gothic styled Abbey Presbyterian Church was designed by Architect Andrew Heiton of Perth, Scotland.
A wealthy Dublin merchant and philanthropist named Alexander Findlater completely funded the construction of this church at a cost of £14,000.
Because of his monumental donation, Dubliners immediately began calling it Findlater’s Church.
The church solidified its place in Irish cultural history by appearing under the name "Findlater's Church" in two of James Joyce’s major novels (Ulysses and Finnegans Wake).

The graceful church spire rises against a vivid blue sky. Its intricate stonework creates a majestic focal point. Red-brick buildings provide a warm contrast. Lush trees and hedges soften the architecture. Colourful flowers and turquoise water complete the tranquil scene...wonderful capture..V
