Obviously it doesn't look like a room designed for Frederick the Great.
This is part of the Winter Chamber built by his immediate successor in the same wing where the Golden Gallery is.
Frederick the Great died childless, his successor was his nephew, Frederick William II.
(The names are extremely confusing. They kept using the names Frederick, William, and later on Wilhem).
His nephew Frederick William II lived a very lavish, eccentric, and scandalous lifestyle. However, he was responsible for introducing the simple, clean Neoclassical interior design to Prussia.
He was tired of his uncle Frederick the Great’s over-the-top, golden Rococo style and wanted something fresh, geometric, and modern.
When his son Frederick William III and Queen Luise inherited this suite, they used this room as a simple family reception area.
