154_A monkey in China.jpg

I very rarely photograph flowers, and even more rarely animals. I am afraid of many animal species, including monkeys.
My bad experience with monkeys dates back to a trip to Gibraltar. There were a lot of them there. Feeling uneasy, I went back to the tour bus.
I was shocked to discover that a monkey had climbed into the bus, which had been left open; as soon as it spotted me, it snatched the sunglasses I was wearing right off my face.
Years later, when I went to China, there were plenty of monkeys there too...Sometimes I could not avoid them, especially when I was climbing up the steps to some temple on the mountain....
I came across this monkey in Hunan. Seeing that it was busy eating, I mustered my courage to take this picture.

Funny how each one of us has different likes and dislikes in images! You don't shoot flowers and animals, and for me, I never shoot churches or babies, others for example have thousands of images and ... not a single person in any of them! That's what makes it all worthwhile, we're all different. The ultimate is probably when your photography becomes like a signature, you see an image and you instantly know who the photographer is, not many achieve this threshold. Nice monkey by the way, it reminds me of the Monkey Jungle in Miami.
