114_Merlion is also brave and strong.jpg

The Merlion—a mythical creature featuring the head of a lion and the body of a fish—is the official mascot of Singapore.
The term "Mer" traces its roots to the Latin word *mare* and the Old English word *mere*, signifying that the origins of this cosmopolitan city lie in those of a humble fishing village.
The term "Lion," meanwhile, derives from Sanskrit, evoking the "Lion City."
This creature was originally conceived in 1964 to serve as the logo for the Singapore Tourism Board.
Today, the Merlion proudly embodies courage, strength, and the deep bond Singaporeans share with the sea.

The Merlion stands brilliantly illuminated against the Singapore night skyline, its powerful stream of water creating a dramatic arc across the frame. The glowing white statue and blue-lit base contrast beautifully with the dark sky and warm city lights behind it. The spray of water catches the light like mist and sparks, adding energy and movement to the scene. This photo captures the Merlion as both a national icon and a striking centerpiece of Singapore’s vibrant waterfront.....Excellent! V
