To the left (or lower part) lies Ulm, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, and to the right (or upper part), Neu-Ulm, in the state of Bavaria.
Neu-Ulm was formerly part of Ulm until 1810, when the Danube was established as the border between the Kingdoms of Württemberg and Bavaria.
Today, Ulm and Neu-Ulm function together as twin cities, connected by bridges.
The large building in this photo is the Donaucenter, a famous residential and commercial complex.
This is the final photo in this sub-gallery. I did not go inside the Ulm Minster, as my umbrella, camera bag, windbreaker, and hair were almost dripping with water.
I felt that my attire was not appropriate for entering a church. So, I missed out on photos of the cathedral's interior.
However, I was grateful to have come home with these photos of Ulm's architecture, despite the heavy rain.
