What makes Rochester look unique is the waterfalls (High Falls) right in the downtown area. With Genesee River that runs northward through Pennsylvania and New York State, enough power was provided to operate the mills in the 19th century (the mill in photo 5 is not in use any more, but has been well kept as one of the attractions for tourists).
