César Manrique

César Manrique was a very important artist on Lanzarote.
After travelling the world he returned to Lanzarote in 1966. He played an important role in developing de Island of Lanzarote. He made a model to develop the Island and protect the island's natural and cultural heritage. His efforts paid of and Lanzarote was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 1993 by the UNESCO.
He build his house over five very large natural volcanic bubbles.
Today it's home to the César Manrique Foundation.
You can visit the house and wonder through the elegant rooms and spaces he created.
