6/1: Acorn Street

Acorn Street in Beacon Hill - one of the last cobblestone streets in Boston.

I live around the corner from here and it's one of my favorite places to visit on a walk.

Lee's right - there's nothing on the block that would make you think it's later than 1800. And it's right smack in the middle of Boston!

I love this street. I love the whole hill. Fantastic picture. Even the stars on the flag are old.

Lovely angle. Just looks like a couple of Victorian characters will stroll down this way any minute.

I love all the history that you feel when you journey through old neighborhoods. For me, it's a thrill to walk in the footsteps that echo the past and be able to photograph today, something that could only be captured by painting or other media in the distant past. The window to the olden days is always open.

I really like your treatment here. A nice artistic touch. Great comp to get the cobblestones, brick sidewalk and the walls.

Great shot and processing. I don't envy anybody having to walk on those stones when it is raining!

Superb angle, Della! Like the saying goes, "they just don't make'm like they used to".

I've jogged those stones the couple of times I visited Boston. The architecture is exquisite! It doesn't take much to imagine you are back in time. Nice composition.
