The purpose of our trip to Vienna was to have a go at the European Casino Employees Poker Tournament. (We went to last years one in Holland) We went with Jarrod, Tia and Al and stayed at a nice cushy hostel called Wombats. (There's no escaping Oz!) We didn't win the tournament but we had loads of fun. Out time was mainly spent at the casino so we didn't really have a chance to see much of Vienna unfortunately.
Our first night in Vienna at a traditional Viennese restaurant. Amazing Wiener Schnitzels that took up the whole plate.
Clint met his 3rd cousin James for the first time and his girlfriend Miriam. He's from Oz but has been living there for a year.
A cathedral in the centre of Vienna.
Didn't have much time to look around the city unfortunately.
So much to see, so little time.
Eat your heart out Nene.
Julie window shops at a popular patisserie. It's a cake! Oh my gawd!
Casino Baden, where the tournament was held. Baden was a 30km drive out of Vienna. Beautiful small town by the hills.
Inside the casino was amazing. Really palatial and extravagant.
Calming our nerves before the tournament with pasta for Julie and an icecream sundae for Clint. What else!!
A not so good pic of the tournament. 3 heats with 160 people in each which narrowed down to 50 people in the semi-final.
Clint sussing out his fellow players.
Julie took it less seriously and got really crap cards. When she did have something decent, no one else wanted to play!
