Brown Creeper.jpg

These birds are hard to find. First one for me. Embracing old-growth mixed coniferous forests. When they are frightened they flatten against the tree trunk making them very hard to see. He was right in front of me for a while before i noticed him. Only creeper in North America.

A lifer for you? Congrats. A super shot, big vote.
Plumage is quite similar to our Tawny frogmouths, like an invisibility cloak.

Wow, Peter! Very nice. I've shot a couple of images of Brown Creepers. Extremely difficult. They never quit moving, usually spiralling around the tree quickly. This has to be one of the best shots of a Brown Creeper that I've seen. Congrats! (And, yes, I'm jealous.)
