I am so fortunate to have made friends with the Amish Farmer and his wife in the little valley just beyond my back yard. And I am blessed that they accept me into their lives and welcomed me into their Amish Community. Lizzy has become almost a daughter to me, and the Troyer children call me Grandmother. There are 6 children. Joe has given me permission to photograph their farm from up here on my ridge and special events as long as I do not show faces. I have learned ice harvesting, barn raising and many things from my Amish family and was truly honored when they invited Phil and I to spend Christmas Eve with them
