Pump It Up
My daughters and I decided to take the grandkids to the local Pump up the Fun for some good times playing on the inflatables. It's a great way for the kids to run and play and get tired so they will take good naps. They have a lunchroom area where you can bring your own food and eat it, so you don't have to buy overpriced junk food. The boys loved it, and Eliza had fun, too, but she was a little too small to enjoy everything. Just wait till next year!

Five Seconds = Thirty Minutes
On my way back to WV from Ohio today, I sort of saw traffic backing up across the bridge and onto the on-ramp. I had about 5 seconds to decide whether to get in the traffic or keep on down the road to the next bridge. I got on the on-ramp. Obviously, I did not choose wisely. Two pickup trucks were involved in an accident right before the bridge. I was stuck for 30 minutes while the emergency vehicles all jockeyed for position. Luckily a state police officer started directing traffic around the accident, and we all moved on.

It's Gonna Start to Get Bad
This time last year I think I just quit doing PaD, because the weather was nasty and I was just too busy. Priorities, ya know. But I refuse to give up this year. So I'll post something, anything, just to get it done. As I said at the beginning of the year, this is an exercise in discipline, and as much a journal as a photo blog.
I had to go to Sam's today to buy 3 cases of Monster for my husband, who has switched his caffeine addiction from coffee to Monster Lo Carb (let's not talk about my relationship with Diet Coke). Of course it was crowded and the parking lot was crazy. I really love that man or I wouldn't have gone so close to Thanksgiving!

OK, I'll Do It Myself
I take a lot of pics of family and friends these days, but I am hardly ever in a photo. That's partly because I don't like seeing myself, so I hide from the camera. But I really didn't have a good shot to put on my Facebook page. I was going to set up the wobbly tripod and figure out my self-timer, but that was too much work. So while sitting in traffic today I amused myself with my iphone.

Really Cool Garage Sale
My friend and I decided to have a garage sale today. We do this every so often, and take the proceeds to Nicaragua to buy stuff for our sponsored kids there. No problem, except it was only 15 DEGREES F this morning at 7:30 am!!! We were sure that no one would show up, but the weather really didn't seem to hurt. Plus hardly anyone else in town was crazy enough to have an outdoor sale today. We made $400 and got rid of almost all the stuff. And I only lost one toe to frostbite (kidding!).

Twilight--The Movie
Alright, I admit I have read all 4 Twilight books (it is just pure junk food reading, like cheese fries). Although they are a teen romance series, they are quite addictive and so much fun to read. Tonight I went with some of my friends who are all much older than the target audience, and thoroughly enjoyed it. With a couple of exceptions they did a great job of bringing the book to life. The funniest parts were when the audience saw "Edward" (the perfect man except he is a vampire) for the first time, and the notorious make out scene in Bella's bedroom. Lots of squealing, and at least one person took a flash picture. Definitely some fun on a Friday evening when my husband had to work. I truly hope they make another movie, before I get too old to slip in to see it without sticking out too much.

The Cooldown
Trust me, this was about the only second these 4 sat still at the same time.

The Turmoil
This is what a playdate for 4 boys under the age of 4 looks like.

First Snow
We looked outside a few minutes ago and there was a blizzard of snowflakes coming down. The first snow of the season. By the time I had found my memory card, changed to what I thought was the right lens, and figured out the camera settings, the snow had almost stopped. Makes me miss the point and shoot right now.

The Old Coin in the Shot Glass Trick
We saw this trick on Time Warp. You shoot a pool ball toward a coin sitting on the edge of the table. When it hits, the coin flips into the shot glass. I'm surprised to say it works!

Unexpected
Sometimes the best pictures are the ones you didn't plan. This morning I was sitting in the family room enjoying the bright sunlight coming through the windows. There is a bronze deer statue on our mantel, and I happened to look up and see its shadow perfectly centered on one of the large rocks of our fireplace. I grabbed my camera and snapped off a few shots before the light moved. I'm happy I was able to capture the moment.

Are You Nuts?!
Or if you aren't, do you have any? Since people feed these squirrels all the time in the park, they are pretty aggressive. There are spots along the path where you don't want to stop for very long, or you might be surrounded. So this was taken very quickly with my iphone.

Ritter Park
Almost makes me happy to exercise when this is the scenery.

Tootsies
OK, I didn't take this shot today, but I found it on my iphone and had to use it. This was my view of Eliza when we were taking a little walk. I'm just a sucker for those baby toes.
