G is for . . .
Garden Ornaments.
I used to enjoy working in my perennial beds, but for the last several years, I just haven't had the enthusiasm I used to. Maybe because the deer eat everything that isn't locked inside a fence. A good side effect of this is that I can walk by the garden decorations and admire, but I don't have to buy.

F is for . . .
Flagman.
Tis the season for road construction. They are replacing an interstate bridge near us, and we either spend time waiting in traffic to get through, or have to find creative ways to get around the mess. Very frustrating when you are in a hurry, which is always for me!
D is for . . .
Dogwood. We are lucky enough to have these trees growing wild in our woods. I heard that there is a disease which is spreading and killing them all off, but so far it hasn't reached us. One of my earliest memories is of gathering the red seeds in the fall. I don't think I had a plan; it was just cool to have a cup of them.
C is for . . .
Caterpillars. As I said previously, these caterpillars or bagworms are everywhere. When I saw these in formation on a tree, it started to creep me out just a little bit. I can't wait till they all go away and spin their little cocoons.

B is for . . .
Birthday! Today is my 50th birthday. My daughters gave me not one, but two priceless gifts. They scanned in photos from my childhood and then published a hardbound book of my life. They even had a copy of the little card that was on my bassinette in the hospital nursery! And then they asked all of my friends and family to write notes to me and made a memory box with all their well wishes. Of course I sat and blubbered for 15 minutes reading them all this morning. Thanks so much to my wonderful girls!

A is for . . .
Ants. This is not your Nana's ant farm! This is a space age, gel-filled ant farm which is lighted from the bottom. Very cool.
