Hear and see future rock stars (like, say, The Vespers!) today, while they're first doing their thing! 7PM Show. Since 2005 when Metro Parks Music instructors Sam Frazee (guitar, bass) and Shannon Williford (harmonica, guitar) began offering classes that would allow young musicians to learn to play and perform in a band situation. Since that time, the program has grown, with many students becoming well-known in the local music scene, and some moving on to college in a music curriculum. Metro Parks JamBands are open to any Davidson County resident age 8 to 18. Weekly hour-long sessions are held at Centennial Park's Arts Activity Center. There is no charge for these sessions, but the students must have knowledge of their instruments before entering the program. http://www.nashville.gov/parks/docs/classes/music.pdf VIDEO OF THE BANDS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pv4KJUP-taI |
