Some cruises head east (towards Nashville), and others head west (towards Clarksville). Captain Jim sometimes selects the direction based on the current wind, water and weather conditions. Besides traveling on the Cumberland River, you are likely to visit a smaller waterway: Brush Creek, Marrowbone Creek, the Harpeth River or Sycamore Creek. (Please note they do not travel to Nashville; it would take 3-1/2 hours one way.) Sunset Cruises usually travel through Brush Creek (east) or around Harpeth Island (west); both directions offer terrific views of the sunset. Blue Heron Cruises is located in Ashland City, Tennessee at the Riverview Restaurant. NOTE: The restaurant was destroyed in the 2010 flood and reopened in late May of 2011. |
