It seems that every time I go into downtown D.C. I take another picture of the Capitol building. (Some think I do it so I can prove (with my captions) that I know the difference between Capital and Capitol.) I've seen this building at all times of the day, and it always leaves me with a sense of awe. I'm overcome by feelings of pride (in being an American and in our form of government), humility (before perhaps the most important symbol of our democracy), and responsibility (for electing the people who occupy the two great chambers of the building and for both the good and bad decisions made by those who represent us to the nation and the world).
