Jane Goodall spoke today to members of Population Connection at their annual Capitol Hill Days conference. I was asked to photograph the talk, as well as two other events during the conference. Due to a condition that causes her considerable discomfort from camera flashes, I had to shoot with the available light in the meeting room -- fluorescent and too dim -- a bit of a challenge.

Without a doubt, meeting Ms. Goodall and hearing her message was the best part of the assignment for me.
