One of the last finishers has collected her gear and heads for home (mud notwithstanding). Sometimes people ask runners why they do it -- especially under the "challenging" conditions faced this day. I guess this is one of those situations where "you had to be there". Not one of the eight thousand plus finishers have to ask that question.
