10/15/04 - Dichotomy. Take Your Pick

Damascus, MD

Shot this bunch of flowers in pots next to each other. I really liked the color and contrast. Although I didn't take much notice at first, it's also fun that each variety has a yellow center -- wish I could claim good planning or composition. Did a little cropping to have each variety occupy an opposite part of the frame. The black interregnum (always wanted to use that word) was a freebee; it was just there.

PS - Crop. Slight level adjustment. Bump contrast a tad. USM. Squish and frame.

Why, thank you, folks. Coming from you all, I consider that high praise. Actually, I was just lucky that I could crop the original photo to show the two opposing sets of flowers. Beyond that, not much was needed. Since what I intended is what you saw and commented on, I'm actually quite pleased. Thanks.

Also like how the yellow is carried out on all the flowers.

I like the way this photo is divided in half between pink and red flowers. Very nice.

Tough decision.. pink or red..
I love the way these are arranged so they are triangles with a bit of space sliding up the middle. Nice colors AND detail
