This young woman, who was with us on a mountain pass hike north of Kabul was murdered less than two months after this photo was taken. She was a teacher in a local school. She was relaxing at a coffee shop when two men on a motorcycle drove up, shot her, and left. The Taliban subsequently took credit for the murder.
