Death Valley

I took a 5 day photo workshop in Death Valley National Park. Stayed at Furnace Creek Ranch which was central to the locations we visited. I was expecting to see sand dunes everywhere, but they are mostly in one area at the Mesquite Sand Dunes. There are expansive salt formations left from long evaporated lakes, Badwater and the Devil's Golfcourse are salt beds that go on for miles. The Runway is a flat clay like surface called Playa, that features stones that seemingly move themselves. You can see the tracks they leave behind them. People have been stealing the rocks because they believe they have "supernatural" powers. Here are some of my favourites from the workshop.
