NGC-185 and NGC-147

Sedro-Woolley, Wa.

This image is about 0.8X1.4 degree field of view center at about RA00hrs 37mins DEC+48deg 29mins. Celestial North is up and East is left.
NGC-185 is the fuzz ball on the left and NGC-147 is on the right, located in the constillation Cassiopeia.

NGC-185 is also known as Caldwell 18, discovered in 1833 by John Herschell. It is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy about 2 million light years away.
This galaxy as well as NGC-147 are both satellite galaxys of the great Andromeda Galaxy.

NGC-147 is also a dwarf spheroidal galaxy and also a satellite of Andromeda. It is located about 2.5 million light years from earth.
John Herschel discovered it in 1829.
