Rosette Nebula

Sedro-Woolley, Wa.

Image center RA: 06h32m 27.3s DE:+04°56' 31"
This nebula is about 5200 light years away in the constillation Monoceros.
Most of the ionizing radiation probably comes from NGC2244 which is the open star cluster in the nebula.
The open cluster probably formed from the gasses of the nebulous region itself.
