Great galleries, Dan! I really enjoyed the pictorial tour of all the places you've been. There's a lot of places you've shown here that I'm really wanting to visit soon. And your perspectives make it easy to put myself right there. Thanks!

Hello Dan,
Thanks for viewing my galleries. I especially like your Rhine River gallery as you made excellent choices with regard to framing and angle selection. Well done!

Hello

My name is Alexander Maxwell. I'm a historian, and I'm writing a piece on the social meanings of tobacco in 19th century Hungary. (well, that's the sort of things historians do). Anyway, I wanted a pic of the cigar holders in the Hungarian parliament, so I googled for it, and found your beautiful photograph athttp://www.pbase.com/dcoleman59/image/34576181/medium
and I'd like to use it in my article. So this is a request for permission.

Note that this article is in the "draft" stage, and the final piece, when published, may be in black and white only. It'd be for the "Journal of the Social History of Alcohol and Drugs," it's a non-profit publication. You and your web gallery would be cited in a footnote; I can cite another gallery if you're interested.

If you'd like to know more about me, my online cv is geocities.com/maxwellcv.

Hi Dan, thanks for your comment on my gallerie Miscellaneous.
I took a quick tour on your galleries, really enjoyed myself, but I'm missing one...The Netherlands (ha ha). So, next time you're in the neighbourhood, feel free to knock on our door. When I have more time, I'll dive into your galleries deeper.
Thanks again for the vote too.

Hi Dan,

Don't know if you and Barbara remember me. I'm Wilma's daughter. She emailed me your photos. They're beautiful! I'm living in St. Augustine... a great photographer's/artist's city. Give Aunt Sara a hug for me.

Dan,

I enjoyed looking at your galleries, especially of Central Europe and Turkey (where I live). Looks like we actually did go to many of the same places -- in fact, we took some of the same pictures! I can't believe it, but I even did a large series of doors, just like you, although I haven't gotten around to processing most of the pictures yet. (And some with the same camera, at that!) I'll have to revisit when I have more time and see where else you've been.

Thank you Dan for your stunning photos! I visited those cities in July I have bought a digital camera recently and am very pleased with what it can do, however I have much to learn.

Hi Dan

Some great pictures. I specifcally looked at you London and France pictures as we were over there in June. We stayed in one of the three towers of the Barbican Centre that you can see just off centre on the right of your picture that you have labelled as above. It brings back great memories as we have a similar picture to this also taken from the Eye.

Thnaks for sharing with us.

Regards

Philip
