Crude comparison of Canon Digital Rebel models.
The ONLY purpose for this is to illustrate the difference in the black and silver body versions of this camera as it pertains to light reflection at night (or in a dark room with spot light sources).

The silver is a toned silver coating [paint] over a gray plastic while the black appears to have a very slightly textured low gloss black coating over black plastic. The black coating is required for a uniform appearance and to cover mold marks, etc.

An interesting visual observation is that the black body "looks" smaller when the two models are placed side by side. Of course the two models are identical in actual size.
