My hometown, the way I see it.
I love Macau, but the old Macau, not the one nowadays. Ever since the market liberalization of the Gaming Industry, Macau has been under tremendous impacts, both economic and social. The city used to be a quiet small town featuring European buildings. People could really relax and have a good time wandering around town. However, that peaceful little town is gone, forever.
Everyday, we have to cope with thousands of visitors, mainly from the Mainland, traffic jams, constructions, uncivilized and rude but rich gamblers, prostitutes, and sometimes, even robbers and thieves. We can see chained Hong Kong brands, such as Sasa, Watsons, 7-11, Giodano, Park-n-Shops, Bossini... etc., you name it.
Macau is growing to be a nasty metropolitan. The trend is inevitable and unstoppable. If we cannot stop the trend, we have to adapt to it.
And, we can use our cameras to record whatever that is left today!!! Sad but very true.
