Homer is famous for The Spit. Comprised of stones, rocks and gravel it protrudes
out into Kechemak Bay and is home to a fleet of fishing boats many of which are
charters that take people out to experience some of the "World's Best" halibut fishing.
Bald eagles are prevalent due to the fish filled waters of the Bay and the fishing industry.
