New Zealand - South Island in Winter

I was able to spend a quick weekend this June (’05) in South Island, New Zealand. The photos are winter scenes taken at the Milford Sound (Fiordland Nat’l Park), Queenstown and Glenorchy areas. A proper vacation in New Zealand is now on my list of mandatory places to visit. South Island has all the beauty of Alaska but without the bitter cold winters.

Just wondering how you went about your sightseeing. Car? Tourbus? Boat? Great pictures. My family and I are planning a trip there this summer. We'll only have a couple of days as well and are wondering the best way to go about seeing it without mortgaging the house. I have heard that flights are not dependable in the winter. Any advice you can share on logistics will be appreciated. Diana

Dear David, i was suprised when i opened the photo you up loaded here. i was seeking some photos of Sth island to show my bf a place i visited two years ago......the photos here remind me of too much, my days in NZ, my dream left behind, the young boy that fell in love with me passionately, my visit to south Island and part pf my soul ....
