This was one time when the 500mm was too close for the real picture. What I did not see in the viewfinder in very low light just after sunset was that this Changable Hawk-Eagle (or Crested Hawk-Eagle [S. cirrhatus]) had a snake in it talons. After my picture was taken with the Canon EOS D60, 500mm, f/4.5, ISO400, at 1/20 sec using window camera mount, the bird flew off with its captured snake dinner.
