We watched this male Asian Elephant for almost 30 minutes at a water hole and then positioned ourselves to where his walk would intercept our jeep. As he approached the jeep he started to get a little irritated with us, flapping his ears and pawing the ground. It was at that moment that this picture was taken with the Canon EOS D60, 100-400mm IS at 150mm, f/6.7, ISO200 at 1/250.. However, moments later I missed the real photo opportunity. He turned around and since I was not interested in a rear-end shot I set the camera in my lap. That was when he whirled around, flailed his trunk and sounded with a loud trumpet a firm warning that he was no longer amused with us. What a picture opportunity – but by the time my brain registered that this was the picture to take it was all over.
