Three of us had taken an afternoon hike into the mountains to shoot Mt Fitz Roy sunset/nightscape. We started the hike with clear blue skies - perfect for stars! However, after we had set up our compositions and were waiting for the sun to go behind the clouds a weather front came rushing in with high winds, the kind that will blow over your tripod in a nanosecond, and with crazy lenticular clouds.
Time for Plan B. Instead of my composition of Mt Fitz Roy, clear sky with waterfall in foreground it was changing to ultrawide lenses and shooting cloud formations.
