I went into town today with the intention of shooting freight trains (new project) and along the way I saw this horse drawn wagon going down Rt 66 on the east side of Flagstaff. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some shots, ask some questions so I turned around and caught up with it (not hard to do, he only had six horsepower). By the time I got up to him he had stopped alongside the road to give the horses a break. I asked the driver, Ron Dakatah, if I could take a few pictures. After taking a few shots I struck up a conversation with him. He told me that he and his wife Teresa had started out from Idaho about two months ago and where on their way back. He offered some information on the wagon, called it an Amish motor home but that it was actually an old sheep herders wagon made in 1930. Inside was replete with all the comforts of home including a wood burning stove, hot water heater and icebox. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for looking in and if you have any questions, comments or are interested in a print, you can contact me at davidroy.images@msn.com ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ HINT: Scroll down to view all thumbnails.
