We visited Switzerland in early June. Taking advantage of the low season, we did not make advance booking and based on the weather forecast to decide which place to go next. If the weather is bad there is no point to go up a mountain.

Fortunately we did have quite some days with good weather. However these days were really hot, even for towns with altitude over 1000m. Booking a hotel with air conditioning became a priority.
