This is an example of a Canon 400D image, 1/200th at f9, upsampled from the raw file using Adobe Camera Raw (a small section of the full 17.5 megapixel result is shown only). Noise reduction and sharpening are all set to zero. Exposure was set to -0.3 to compensate for burned out white boat, and shadows to 0 to open up shadows. Brightness 56, Contrast 27, Saturation 7 - all slightly increased to cope with the very dull flat colour rendering given by the 400D. Also, Tone Curve set to Strong, for the same reason.
