A100vs7D-16to80.jpg

I contribute images to Alamy, the on-line picture library. They require the file to be interpolated up to 48 megabytes of 8-bit RGB data, which means the 5120 pixel wide (17.2 megapixels) export option when using Photsoshop Camera Raw workflow, or Lightroom (etc). The Alpha 100 offers a significant gain in detail (left) compared to the Dynax 7D (right). Since Alamy will reject an entire batch of hundreds of images if they find more than FOUR in the entire lot which their QC staff reckon are not sharp enough, there is little choice between the excellent older 7D and the new 'more amateur' A100. The A100 simply produces better sharpness and detail at this size.
