This screen shot shows several things - first of all the A55's use of auto ISO, as the light changes, to retain the same constant 1/125 at f/7.1 for four shots in row of the cow and donkey in the stable. The very brightest one was chosen for post processing in ACR, despite having the most powerfully overexposed foreground, as it also had the best details like the exact sweep of the donkey tail and the head positions. The A55 raw file is one of the best formats I've ever used for pulling in overexposed detail, before clipping point is reached; here a -2EV graduated filter was dragged over the bottom of the area (ACR 6.3). The cow's hoof showed colour clipping - it was not unacceptable, but for a perfect image a square crop was made. Whatever DxO or other test sites report about the A55 raw files, I can only say after processing half this overall week's shoot that I have never worked with more versatile raws for exposure, tone and colour adjustment latitude. They are also amazingly sharp and low noise.
