This sample shows the 6400 ISO in-camera JPEG quality from the D3X (the links on the chains are impressive for resolution). Saturation is low, as it drops sharply with the Hi settings. 5fps is not fast enough to machine-gun shoot action like this, you have as much chance of missing the right moment as getting it. I had seen this guy going round doing his shape and letting centrifugal force hold him in his seat, so I timed the shot - single shot - for the next time round. The D3X has hair-trigger shutter response and a very short mirror delay, really sweet for precision timing of single action shots.
