I thought that these big iron balls must have been left over from some late nineteenth century
industrial installation. Nope. They are a purpose designed modern sculpture.
The information plaque reads: (ahem) "This sculpture is based upon the simple observation that the
transformation taking place at Jackson's Landing reflects our changing perceptions about the
landscape. The pieces that make up 'Metamorphosis', like the basic elements of the site, remain
constant, only their orientation and one's perception of them changes." Uh huh.
Don't let ANYONE tell you that art ... is ever bul@#&it.
